Join us for an informative two-part workshop series designed to educate landowners and land seekers about the process, benefits, considerations, and challenges of conservation easements. Whether you’re planning for the future of your land or searching for land to begin farming, this series will provide the foundational knowledge and actionable insights you need to make informed decisions.

This event is hosted in collaboration with Cultivate KC, KC F.A.R.M.E.R.S. Coalition, KC Farm School, KC Black Urban Growers, Platte Land Trust, and The Conservation Fund. Both workshops are hosted at the Anita B. Gorman Conservation Discovery Center at 4750 Troost Ave, Kansas City, MO 64110.

Workshop Goals:

  • Equip attendees with a clear understanding of conservation easements and their role in land stewardship.

  • Discuss challenges and barriers such as zoning policies, land valuation, and urban development restrictions.

  • Offer practical strategies and resources for navigating the conservation easement process, considering local policy and impacts, and working with realtors and land planners.
