At the center of its community, the farm fosters an environment that transforms both individuals and society through collaborative and participatory projects. Our lending libraries—offering books, tools, seeds, ag inputs, and even hospitality ware—are a key part of our vision which includes a circular, equitable economy. By sharing resources, we reduce waste, promote sustainability, and make essential materials and resources accessible to all. These libraries are part of our work to promote community-wide engagement and collective stewardship.

Please join in and share abundance!

Little Free Library

Located on the corner at 4223 Gibbs Road in KCK, our Little Free Library was installed in 2021 by Turner High School’s Building Trades program.

Stop by anytime to find a book you love or leave a book you’d like to share!

The library is regularly stocked by our team, local libraries and community members so the inventory is always changing. We will ask that you keep the library organized and neat as you add or take from it.

Mulching materials

Currently, at Common Ground, we have free wood chips available for the community.

Bring a bucket and stop by on a Wednesday evening during our Farmers Market to take some free wood chips home with you!

Book Lending Library

We have hundreds of books available for lending over a variety of topics and in a variety of reading levels! Stop by the farm office during business hours to peruse the book library.

We will ask that you sign out the books and return them within 3 weeks to keep the library stocked and refreshed.

If you would like to donate books, please email us at info@kcfarmschool.org and we will be in touch!

Tool Lending Library

We have tools to share, as well! Our tool lending library includes farming specific tools including some specialty tools and hand tools. We have power tools available and even a few large pieces of equipment.

If you have been considering purchasing a tool but really only need it once or twice, don’t buy - borrow! Please reach out to our Farm Director to inquire about the tool lending library process at lydia@kcfarmschool.org

Hospitality Library

When we host events, we don’t do disposable. Because of that, we have plenty of event hosting supplies we are able to share including flatware, cups, plates, bowls and saucers. If you are hosting a large event and want to make it more sustainable, please reach out to us at info@kcfarmschool.org.

Seed Library

We have seeds to share!

Stop by the farm office during business hours to peruse the seed library. Please note that variety, quantity and availability will vary throughout the year and by the season.
